Algonquin Park with its magnificent 3200 sq. miles of wilderness is a worldrenowned treasure. The Visitor Centre, the Logging Museum, the many hiking trails and interpretive programs all offer inviting ways to explore and learn more about this famous park. In May and June, a drive through the park is almost guaranteed to show moose along the road. August features the famous Wolf Howls, as park naturalists give you a chance to hear the wolves, and September and October show Algonquin at its most spectacular, with striking autumn colours

Less than 45 minutes from Hay Lake are 2 golf courses in Bancroft. Bancroft Golf Course is a 9 hole course, and Riversedge has 18 holes.
Wilno and the Madawaska Valley make a great day trip. Local artisans offer pottery and paintings. The view from the hill at St. Mary’s goes for miles. Be sure to try the authentic pierogies at the Wilno tavern!

Mountain Bikes can be rented at Lake of Two Rivers Store in Algonquin Park or Algonquin Outfitters. Enjoy a leisurely ride along the Old Railway Bike Trail, or get a workout on the Minnesing Mountain Bike Trail. If you bring your own bike, there are old logging roads and trails you can explore from the Lodge.
Geocaching can lead to special spots around us in Algonquin, North Hastings and the Madawaska Valley. There’s definitely room on Hay Lake to set up a cache!
