This is my view out the Main Lodge today, May 13. Don't I have a nice view from my "Office"? The hills are beginning to green, the decks are swept, chairs are in place - It's Opening Day! I'm just typing, waiting for my guests to arrive this evening. It's a good feeling - winter vacation is over, and I'm looking forward to meeting new guests and greeting returning friends. It's been a glorious week with sunshine every day, and the spring wildflowers have burst out. When you walk around the property, it's a treat to see them poking through the grass and leaves I know that our guests will want to canoe and kayak this weekend. And probably some will drive up to Algonquin Park, and look for moose on the side of the road - they are easy to see this time of year, as they graze in the swampy waters. We still have projects at the Lodge of course. The roof on the Main Lodge is not quite finished. We need to re-side the old Guide Shack. But all in all, I couldn't ask for a better place to work and live. I look forward to sharing it this season.
